Thirty minutes or so, is that all? My husband can snore in any position even sitting up in a chair. The only time he stops is when I wake him to roll over, he will stop for a minute or two. I try to fall asleep during those few minutes. I have never thought of a pillow over his face. That seems a little extreme. After all, I took a vow "For Better or Worse", and after 30+ years they kind of grow on you. I am sure he could list a few of my faults, that he puts up with too.

Man. No. Ok, I can't lie. but instead of doing this, I shove him just a bit. It only works for like a minute or so. Then soon after I just want to put myself out of my misery by putting a pillow over my own head if I listen to the snoring any longer!

He would be dead by then....
Vibrations of soft tissues located at the back of our throats cause the noisy, annoying sounds of snoring that sometimes prevent non-snorers from getting their ZZZZs.
The palate, uvula and tonsils are the tissue structures that flap against each other when someone has too much tissue at the back of their mouth or when an obstruction is blocking the air passageway to the back of the throat.
People with snoring problems tend to have one of the following conditions:
* Poor muscle tone in the tongue and throat
* Excessive bulkiness of throat tissue
* Long soft palate and/or uvula tissue in the back of the mouth
* Obstructed nasal airways
Snoring can be a serious medical problem because it disturbs sleeping patterns and deprives the snorer of necessary rest.
Did you know?
* 20% of the population experiences snoring problems.
* Males and obese people have more problems with snoring.
* Snoring tends to be louder when a person sleeps on their back.
* There are more than 300 devices registered in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to help cure snoring.

yeah - sometimes he doesn't need to be snoring, just invading my space or throwing a heavy arm over me. I wish I had my own bed in a seperate room sometimes so I could run away and get a good nights sleep. I often find myself on the couch cramped up or with my legs hanging over the edge. Beleive it or not I'm more likely to get a decent nights sleep there than with the hubby.

My first husband snored so loudly I thought the shingles would come off of the roof. I would gladly have put a pillow over his face, if it would have drowned out his snoring. Nothing worked.

and what would that solve? seems like it would create more problems for you. Why not just either have him get those Breathe-Rite nose strips, get a sinus uperation so he can breathe better, lose some weight, or maybe if he's older a cosmetic surgeon can help him. I heard somewhere that a tonsilectomy helps, and they say tonsils don't grow back, but they do. Have him check with his doctor. But, you know, if he gets this corrected for you, he may ask you to get some cosmetic surgery for him.

Damn! I have had girlfriends that sound like a jet plane with asthma, and just gave then a nudge... pillow over her head?
Hell no... dealing with a dead body is not for me.
I'd rather sleep than drive out into the dessert at 3am with a shovel...
You must be kidding!

YES!! Sometimes I actually pinch his nose so that he then is forced to breath through this mouth and quit snoring!!
