I'm a computer idiot, so you have to explain this to me like a 6 year old.
I have Windows XP, and I'm using Jasic Paint shop pro 8. Someone explained screen shots (caps) like this.

"How to take a screen shot: hit the Print Screen button on your keyboard. Open a graphic program such as Paint, and hit the paste key or Control + V. A picture of the screen will appear. Save it as a .jpeg file"

I've tried and tried and I just can't get it to work for me, so I'm now mad and frustrated. Can anyone help me?

You have two options...
If you use Ctrl - Prnt Scrn [at the same time] you will capture the entire screen.
If you use Ctrl - Alt - Prnt Scrn [at the same time] you will capture only the active window.

Either can then be pasted into your graphics program using Ctrl - V. Note that if you are using a laptop, you will probably have to use the Function key [Fn] also. As in Ctrl - Fn - Alt - Prnt Scrn [all at the same time] to capture the image.
