You can put up an add on Craig's List or the PennySaver and have people respond by calling in. You certainly want to weed people out depending on personality, etc. I am sure that you will get a large response, but the best way to find the right roommate for you is to pick from a lot of people. Competition is a good thing.

Through your friends, try someone with a proven background, maybe their friends friends. Someone known to someone you know. Or better yet, your friends. If you have no friends, visit your local animal shelter, animals are great roomies, trust me!!!!:-)

definitely not thru ad in the newspaper...where all the weirdos can come knocking on your door. i would suggest thru friends' recommendation would be best. good luck!!
