this makes it exceedingly difficult to find a guy that i can date. in fact it almost been a year since my last relationship and its driving me nuts. to all of you who will tell me to wait, im sick of waitingits no fun when you have to hang around your best friends making out all the time being a 3rd wheel sucks. what can i do to attract the gay boys who arent flamboyant enough to dress in drag come out so that i can tell their gay? also im in high school in a city thats pretty ok with homosexuality so if that helps put my position in perspective...

Try some sites like Mogenic or Downlelink. These are just for gay and lesbian teens and you can search for friends or maybe someone to date in your area.

Well, most people covered it already in where to look and where to hang out, but you said it yourself, you are in HIgh School. The last thing you need right now is to be looking for love. Look for a fun relationship to go out and have a good time with. Worry about finding the love of your life after you are settled down and in a career, much easier that way. Definately have fun along the way, try out th different scenes and see what you like. SOmeone suggested thge bear scene, also check out the leather scene as well. I am guesing that the drag/tranny scene is not what you are looking for, but hey, you never know. Be young, have fun, but be safe while doing it.

If you live in a city that's pretty cool about being gay, what the hell are you complaing about? I had to grow up and "come out" living in the southeast in a town with a population of 4,000 and if I can find quality men to date, I can't image what excuse you have. Try online gay chats. Try going to clubs that cater to the type of men you're looking for. I know it's hard to find guys to date, but come on man! I'm shy, embarrassed to be gay, and live in the south in a small town. If I can find good guys to date, anyone can.

Perhaps what you are looking for are the true essence of masculinity in its natural form. Many guys are attractive to men you show aggressive and other strong traits. The walk, speech, muscle form, and ability to play sports or appreciate them. However; perhaps you are a g0y, rather than gay. If so there is hope. If you're in highschool and gay then finding a masculine gay guy your age will be like finding a needle in a haystack. The masculine ones are still closeted. Only the queens will come out that early in life because there's no way in h*ll they can hide it.

Maybe you are doing this because falling for men that are 'untouchable" is safe for you. Maybe deep down you dont really want to find a real relationship with a real gay man because that scares you for whatever reason. Maybe because you like men that are more masculine?
God only knows hun, my advise, stop it! Get a real bf. There are 81 thousand gay men in this world. Im sure many of them are not flames. Good luck.

Try to find a non-stereotypical activity for gay men--rugby, baseball, rodeo...
Do a search with the words "gay" plus your city, and I bet some interesting possibilities will come up.
Maybe you'd also like the "bear" scene--hairy, masculine-looking men with beer guts who love to have fun!

dude, we are so much in the same situation, its eery!!! i had a huge crush on my straight friend and it made me sad always seeing him with his girl; but i eventually got over it...
i am also annoyed by really flamboyent guys i mean im gay 'n' all but im not one and not looking for a say it loud to everyone kind of guy.
i guess just try and find someone out there who you can ralate to and like in your area... and dont be afraid to go up to someone and ask them out!

I am about the same way you are, except i do prefer women of certain types. The guys are annoying to me as well when they are too effeminate.
I have no advice. I have taken myself away from all that to follow Jesus.
I just wanted you to know that you are not alone being attracted to men and prefer those that seem straight.

Because life has a sence of angst humor. For me, a striaght female, i fall for all the gay guys, or guys i later find out are gay. Maybe me and you should hang out and switch. I'll take your straight men and you take my gay men. It's works out for the best for both of us.
