That depends...do you eat other calcium-rich foods like cheese and yogurt, or calcium-fortified foods like orange juice? Some orange juices contain as much calcium as milk. You might want to try www.mypyramid.org (its free!) to see if you're getting enough calcium.

do you eat cheese, yogurt or another form of dairy? If you take a calcium supplement i recommend Viactive because calcium is hard for your body to break down and you can only digest 500mg at a time. with viactive you chew it(it tastes yummy) so the digestion part starts in your mouth rather than in your stomach. plus you need vitamin D to help process the calcuim and the viactive chews contain what you need to break down and process the calcium. if you are a woman start taking calcuim even if you do drink milk!

Or other dairy, such as yogurt or cheese.

Our bodies do not retain the nutrients from artificial supplements as efficiently as those provided by mother nature.

You should also speak to your doctor about your concerns on your next visit. Especially if you are a woman. You need your calcium to help against osteoporosis...I'm sure you are aware.

You need calcium in your diet for your bones and teeth. As we get older our bones become more thinner. They loose their density and when a bone breaks it is harder to heal. I know this because my mom did not drink a lot of milk and now she has thinning bones. Take a calcium supplement with your meals and then you will not need to worry about thinning bones as you get older.
