I consider voting to be a right, not a privilege.

Becasue many, many people can't. Many countries are dictatorships or discriminate. In the United States, you only need to be an 18+ citizen with no felonies and you're allowed to have a say in who governs you. That is a BIG deal. No religious, ethnic, sex, or any other discrimination. And people fought for years and died do get it way.

Not only is voting a privledge, it is our moral duty. If you don't vote, I had better not hear you say anything negative about the people in power.

many people across the world cannot vote because of dictatorships, corruption, and human rights abuses.

many people around the world fight for the right to vote, and have died for the right to vote.

heck, americans have fought and died for the right to vote (women, slaves, black people, etc...)

so it is a privilege. and it is a damn dirty shame that more americans don't take advantage of this hard-earned privilege and do their civic duty

I believe it's a privilege because we get a say in what happens in our country.

If I don't vote what makes me think I have a right to care or complain, I do and will vote. A woman will be President in my life time.

I've heard it's because, you know, freedom is great. and some people don't have that, and we are lucky and whatnot. also, it can be taken away from you, like if you go to prison or something.

It can be taken away from you if you commit a felony.
