Look to the beginning of Garth Brookes' Nashville carrer. The lawyers and producers decided to sell the 'music of sothern blue collar whites' to every market. This means having "country "musicians from Canada, New York, Australia, and other influences outside of traditional southern values.

It is going the same way as all music. Sold out to the highest bidder. Think about Rap back in the day, a group of black men rapping about the streets, drugs, guns, and sex. Now they rap about million dollar cars, and million dollar ho's, and million dollar houses and boats that they don't even own, nor ever will.

It's scary to think that the (seemingly) recent rise in the popularity of country music has anything to do with that.
