Hey, im part of this class at my school that helps gets students into college and usually we visit at least one college here in california. but its usually the same thing, we visit the college, eat lunch, go to a museum, and head back home. but this year we want to do somehting different, we want to go to the college, stay there for a couple of days, that way we could actually experience true college life (classes, dorm life, city life) . Does anyone know where i can get information about certain overnight trips to colleges here in California? I need information ASAP and prices too so we could know how much our class has to spend. Does it matter whether it is Northern or Southern California? I know that we do have some overnights (Latino overnight, for example) at Loyola Marymount University, but I'm not sure if they would do this for an individual school class. It is a good idea to stay for more than a few hours to experience the culture of the campus and to get a chance to talk to real students. The person to contact in admissions would be Mr. Dale Marini at dmarini@lmu.edu. I would guess that at other schools, the Admissions Office would also be the place to contact.

In general, you stay overnight for one night, and it's free. Most schools even pay for your meals. Most schools do this, so just pick a school you're interested in and give their admissions office a call or an email.
However, it's not really in your best interest to go as a group like that. Besides that the school might not have enough overnight hosts for you all to stay at once (my school can only accomidate something like eight or nine students per night), you won't get an accurate feel for college life since you'll be hanging out together. The best thing to do is go individually. Contact a school you're interested in knowing more about, and most likely you'll be able to stay overnight for free. You're generally only responsible for transportation costs.

most colleges have programs for seniors at little or no cost. you spend the night go to a few classes, eat at the cafeteria etc. contact the colleges you want to visit and see what they'll do.
