Im looking for a word very similar to "harry potter violates the tenents of our society" I dont know if there is even a word that describes what I'm looking for but your help would be appreciated.

Fiction. It means that the author "made it up". I don't see how the imaginary character of Harry Potter could "violate" anything (whether books and thereby authors "violate society" is, I think, another question).
Written DOCUMENTATION that is untrue is called lying, but only if the information is purported to be fact. A novel is by definition a work of fiction, the characters and events described within are supposed to be constructs of the authors' imagination.
Harry Potter is a character in a novel.

I believe the word is "tenets" - which means "beliefs or principles" is what you meant... Any written documentation that isn't telling the truth may be categorized as "fiction."
