Metal, I'd much rather listen to musicians that have mastered playing their instruments than people that have simply learned how to sample other people's music.

I like a little of both. I like a lot of different kind of music. I don't feel the need to put one down just because I may not be into it. Rap and Metal is so far from each other I don't know why you asked this question but anyway its cool.

Metal, 'cos Rap is not even considered music by my standards!
Metal requires some talent & commitment, while all rap reqires is some dumb "Thug" bitching about "Ooh, pop-a-cap-this & smack-a-hoe-that..." over some pretty lame-*** back-beats that are usually stolen from old songs that used to be good back in the day.
I'm not saying I'm offended by MOST of this stuff (I've listened to The Dead Kennedys since I was 6, & NOBODY can top some of the things they sing about!), I just think it gets a little played-out & boring sometimes.
I much prefer something I can bang my head to, rather than flail stupid gang-signs around like some poser.
But maybe I'm just a little old-fashioned...

Definately metal. Rap(in my opinion) is not real music, and pretty much all of it sounds the same(with the exception of Outkast).

Guitar is better!
Of course, I like the 80's hair bands metal better cuz I'm old!

METAL!!!! because i like artists that are real musicians!!! people who play instruments!!!! in rap music some of the things they rap about 1)very seldom really do rhyme and 2) are really stupid and are causing peoples i.q. points to drop even lower. (who cares about bling, dubs, etc)

Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motorhead, MC5, and Helloween
more than rappers
