ok i'll tell you the story. i have this friend and his mom died like 2 years ago i feel so bad that i can't remeber when. all i know is her name is ether sandy or sandra she died in september something i think 2004 anchorage alaska of an over dose. i kind of need to know because he always gets really sad when he thinks about it. i need to find out when she died. so i need to know some way of finding like a list of people that died that time, year or something. i've been looking on the computer but i don't know how

Look it up in the "Social Security Death Index" available at roots or ancestry.com

It's an index of virtually all US deaths since the 1940's... updated several times a year. That 2 year ago death should be on the index.

Get in touch with the Anchorage Ak.Coroner's office. You should be able to search the rcords of death or death certificates or Coroner's reports. (she suffered an overdose.) Also the local forensic pathologist can lay his hands on her post mortem examination report quickly. He probably did the autopsy..
Also, check out the obituaries in the Anchorage Daily News The main newspaper there for Sept. 2004.

try this website. You can enter in the month and year that you want to search. Type Obituaries in also. It is the archives for the anchorage alaska newspaper, Its a good start. I searched through all the obits for sept. but didn't find any with that first name. Good Luck. you also might try www.ancestry.com I hope that this helps you.

It depends on what the state of Alaska requires. You may be able to access the information thru "vital statistics or records", social security records will also tell the date of death. Particularly, if he was underage when she passed.
