Emerson, Lake & Palmer (1970)
Keith Emerson (The Nice) Greg Lake (King Crimson) Carl Palmer (Atomic Rooster)

Interestingly enough, the band's name was almost Hendrix, Emerson, Lake, and Palmer (HELP). Due to scheduling conflicts such plans were not immediately realized, but the initial three planned on having Hendrix join after their debut at the Isle of Wight Festival. Unfortunately, Hendrix died shortly thereafter, so the three pressed on as Emerson, Lake and Palmer.

Down (1995) -
Phil Anselmo (Pantera) Kirk Windstein (Crowbar) Pepper Keenan (Corrosion of Conformity) Todd Strange (Crowbar) Jimmy Bower (Eyehategod)

NOLA (1995) was an album combining the typical New Orleans "sludge doom" sound with distinct blues and country overtones. The band regrouped in 2001 to record the more diverse album, Down II: A Bustle in Your Hedgerow.

I'm not as familiar with ELP as I am guessing I should be.

Since I have both Down albums, and zero ELP albums, I guess my vote is clear.

Down.
