Not necesarily change him, but a man who loves to four wheel, snowmachine, ski and you do all those things with him ,but he doesent romance you..and says its not him, is it me or is it just really him? What are ways you could get a macho man to want to do some things? And if you are a macho man reading this, what are some romantic things you do? Please no rude answers...

You can't change him. He has to realize it himself, and the sad part is you probably won't be able to make him realize it either. Some men just have a different way of showing affection and love. You have to accept his way of showing you.
The only thing I have found to help even a little is that guys like that usually do less of the work in the relationship. It can sometimes help to back off slightly...say your busy some night when he calls and asks you to come over, or rather than stay at his house say your going home to stay. Just don't make yourself the one who always gives in.

Maybe you should re-examine what romance means to him. He might not want to whisper sweet nothings in your ear because that is not how most 'macho' men express tender feelings.
Men like that like creature comforts. A peaceful orderly home, satisfying meals, a comfortable bed, etc etc etc.
Try asking him what turns him on. I'm guessing it won't be garter belts or bubble baths. He will probably tell you he would like an afternoon nap, and you wearing his flannel shirt to bed later in the evening. He might go for a massage, or a movie (not a chick flick) to cuddle up with you to watch.
Having his more tender needs met will help him soften to meet your needs. Maybe he won't tell you your eyes are like sapphires, but he will probably tell you how much you mean to him, or what a comfort you are to him. There is a deeper meaning in those words to a man than there is to a woman.
Good luck with this.

First decide what kind of romantic things in particular you would like to see from him. Flowers? A card? Jewelry? A weekend getaway? If it is something like that, you can leave him little hints as to what you want. It's not just you - Help him understand that ALL women like and need a little something special like that every once in awhile. Some guys need a little help in this department. Keep in mind eventhough he may not be 'romancing' you in the way you'd prefer, if he treats you well and loves you, that's great in itself.

There is a chance that if he knew how important this is to you, he might be open to ideas. Don't nag him but find a way to let him know about the things that would make you all gushy. I also am married to a "macho" man, but he is extremely romantic - he gets pleasure out of pleasing me & of course, I give back in return. examples: he buys me fresh flowers, bringing me a gift I do not expect, notes, leaves me funny e-mails, fixes things around the house for me before i even ask, he has also surprised me with play tickets, dinners, spur of the moment things - hey- there is a book called, "love languages," get that! you go, girl!!!

The nature vs nurture question has been around for a long time and I think it is a contributing factor (role model) but isn't everything that goes into a man being romantic.

YOU CAN'T GUILT HIM INTO IT, YOU HAVE TO INSPIRE HIM TO WANT TO DO IT, AND WHEN HE DOES, YOU HAVE TO REWARD HIM HEAVILY, WITH PRAISE, GOOD LUVIN' ETC.
YOU ALSO HAVE TO BE WILLING TO GIVE TO HIM WHAT YOU WANT FOR YOURSELF. THAT SHOULD GIVE HIM THE HINT.
NEXT TIME YOU GO SKIING, RENT A ROOM AND GET SOME WINE AND ROSE PETALS, AND GIVE HIM A HOT BUBBLEBATH AND A MASSAGE (AND A RIM JOB, TOO).
LEAVE HIM A CUTE, SHORT LOVE NOTE IN HIS BINDINGS. LEAVE THE ROOM KEY IN THE NOTE, AND WRITE "MEET ME AFTER THE SHOW" OR SOMETHING SUGGESTIVE.
RACE SNOMOBILES AND THE WINNER HAS TO COOK DINNER, AND SERVE IT BY CANDLELIGHT.
GET CREATIVE....

Good luck, I'll be reading what others tell you and possibly try them myself. I am just grateful that my husband actually gets excited when I say yes I will go four wheeling with him.

You can't make him do anything he doesn't want to, and since he says "its not him", he obviously doesn't want to do it.
