I was shocked the other day when someone thought Zimbabwe is a country in Asian or in the Middle east. Are you geographically challenged? Do you know this country called Zimbabwe,if so how did you know of it ,and have you ever met someone from there?

I am from South Africa which borders Zimbabwe and have spent many wonderful holidays in Hwange national park and watched the sun set over the magnificent Lake Kariba while elephants and buffalo quench their thirst.

Who would ever forget the magical victoria falls or "smoke that thunders" Zimbabwe is a beautiful country with much to offer it's just a pity about the government that is in place at the moment. I have a good friend named Godfrey who is a fishing guide on Lake Kariba sadly we lost touch a while ago but i'm sure he is ok

Yes, I know about it. I am from South Africa and Zimbabwe is a country in the Africa continent. It was formerly known as Rhodesia, and yes, I have met several people from there. My friends actually go on holiday there.

Yes,
Zimbabwe used to be called Rhodesia..
I knew a man who used to own a large farm / ranch in Rhodesia
while it was still able to support itself and its people..
Then the native population took the successful farms from the
white landowners and the whites pretty much left ..
I met the ex-Rhodesian farmer in West Australia in 1967.
Rhodesia went the same way that the rest of the African nations
went as they changed from White to Black rule...Down the tubes into starvation and political collapse, civil war, AIDS etc. etc...
Yes, I know a country called Zimbabwe...

Yes. it's on the continent of Africa! I just learned all about your country when I took a World Geography class at the University last semester! And my professor was born and reared there, so she shared lots of personal stories. It sounded like a beautiful country!

Yes, I know of it..It is in Africa. No, I have not met anyone from there unless you count the author Alexander McCall Smith. Went to one of his book signings here in Texas once. I believe he is from there. I love his books.
I love to read of other cultures and experience them if I can. That is why I love to travel.
I worked with a lady from Kenya for many years..that is also in Africa but further up...does that count??
