i had a rabbit like that, i was trying to give her food, and she ran over to me and just bit into my finger. it starting bleeding, fast. i was abt 10, and i got teary-eyed. it was rather painful!! but it happened because she was unfortuantely neglected, and not given much time.

i have a rabbit who bites until they draw blood. what i learn't about why they do that it's because they might feel harassed or threatened.
for example if they had a previous owner who miss treated them then when they go to a new home they will think that the owner will do the same. in their defence they will bite and scratch to try and not let what happened with the previous owner happen again.
If you got you're rabbit from a pet shop or other rabbit breeders and you or no one else is putting them under stress and they are biting, the rabbit maybe in shock from change in environment.
it could be suffering from depression, yes rabbits can too. Or it could be feeling threatened by the other animals outside or other pets inside the house.
But don't get angry at the rabbit, reasure it that it's ok and no one is going to harm it. soon your rabbit will probably stop biting, mine did. : )

We used to breed Netherland Dwarf and Lionhead rabbits, and every so often we would get one that was just nasty. Biting, growling, lunging and so on. Usually this was hormonal and spaying or neutering solved the problem. Rabbits do not like to be handled a lot. They like to be petted, but not picked up so much. I have a bunny. He bites me, but hasn't drawn blood yet, though he has sliced my finger open with his back claw. He is usually pretty docile and likes to be held a lot. He seems to be more aggresive to me than he is toward my husband. I think he's trying to assert his dominance over me, like he'll run at me full speed from across the room at full nip at my ankles. That usually when I put him up. He's most likely to bite at me when he thinks he's aquired new territory in my house. For example, I let him out when I get ready in the morning and if I leave the bathroom while he's in the bathroom he doesn't want me to come back in. Its pretty cute.

Watch for infection...any kind of bite is serious and could lead into something very serious....if the rabbit was wild or abused it could do that, but if that happend to us it would become dinner! (kidding)
