An impeachment is an indictment indicating cause for further legal prosecution. An indictment requires no pardon. If found guilty, a President is no longer president, and cannot pardon himself.

If Clinton could have blocked his own impeachment, I have no doubt that he would have.

No, according to Article 2 of the Constitution, the president has the power to grant pardons, except in the case of impeachment.
