no I didn't get a letter but its probably a scam. So I'd be carefull if you proceed with that letter. in other words read all the small print and every thing, and call any numbers that are on the letter to see if it's real

Haven't you heard about the scams? Take the check to your bank and ask the President or a bank officer to check the availability of the funds in that account. You will probably find that the check is a fraud. Never cash a check or deposit it until you verify that the funds exist. Always ask your banker to cash the check and deposit the money in a special account until the check clears. Once the check clears then it's yours. If it doesn't clear, the bank isn't out any money. The banks have been willing to help weed out these illegal scams by doing this for several people we know. We had suggested they do this and the banks then worked with the FBI and other organizations when the checks didn't clear. You need to know, though, that just like illegal immigration, the FBI won't prosecute unless the check is over the threshold. I can't remember whether the threshold was $15,000 or not. I do know that the threshold was over $6,000. You've been scammed! Remember if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

I can tell you right now that I got the letter also. Its a scam. I read all the same things - good things. Made you think "wot they arent asking me to do anything". I did check one thing. I asked them what do you do if you dont have a checking account? The guy told me that he would have to cancel the check and that they would send me a voucher via FedEx saying that they will take their money out of my winnings and sign it and send it back to them and they will send me a check but that takes longer. So I said you know what its all good - I checked the check just to make sure that everything was there and it was. So I took it to my bank. 3 days later I get a call from my bank saying that the check was returned. But they couldnt give me a reason then. So I called up "CELEBRATIONS" and told them the issue. I was given to their "credit" department and I was told that it was a Cashier's check and there was no way that it could have been returned for "insufficient funds" he said that I probably took too long to call and for security reasons they probably cancelled the check thinking I was just going to pocket their money and never call. So I said true I can understand that. He said he was going to send me the voucher via FedEx 2 day and just sign it and send it back and they will release my winnings to me. So I said ok. I called my bank the next day to find out why the check was returned and I was told that it was returned because it was a FRAUD check. I have YET!!!!! to be in contact with anyone at Celebrations. As a result my account is closed due to fraud activities and I have been blocked from having an account with my bank again. Dont cash the check or put it in your account. PLEASE.

If you are in the US DON'T cash or deposit that check. It isn't any good. The bank may give you the cash. Then a few days later they will tell you the check was bogus and want the cash plus service charge back immediately. Also the payor will now know your account details which allows them to drain your acct.

Nope, but my son got a letter from Marlboro saying he won a trip, he really did.Air fair for 2, Stayed at a Montana ranch , took them to yellow stone, went horses back cattle drive, fishing, told them only thing they could pay for would be film. Had their bed covered with gifts when they got there, luggage, cameras, cowboy hats... much more , so yes good things do happen, but they checked it out to make sure it was la git, and it was, so good luck. If it is a legit check, I suggest that you take it to a check cashing place to cash it. If you deposit it in to your account you run the risk of someone getting your account numbers off of the canceled check and stealing your money! If you take it to someplace like Amscott, it does not get run thru your account.
