Wait, did the principal push and choke the child? Or did the principal tell you that your child was the agressor? Your question is unclear.

With the rules of today your not suppose to touch a child or harm a child in anyway. Now if he was defending himself from the child hitting him he could have gone about it in a different way. Some kids in school today are as big as some of the teachers but are still considered children, but if I was in the principal`s situation it would depend on how big the child was. If it`s just a 10 or 12 year old then no that is not acceptable behavior from a principal. But if the so called child is around 14 or 15 years old and can put up a fight then you have to protect yourself and can be considered a reaction of trying to protect himself. Although if it were my child and he put his hands around my childs throat and choked him / or her then he better give his heart to God because his a s s belongs to me!! The hell with calling the law I will be the law judge and jury and have 0 tolerence for touching my children!! In other words I`d go mid evil on his a s s !!

ok just because my child was the one to start the fight does not give the principal the right to push and choke my child.
i would definately get more then just my child's opinion on what happened. i would get a third party's story and go from there. i would have a heart to heart with the principal and if it wasnt accidental or anything then i would make the school board aware of what happened. hopefully then they would punish him properly.
dont by any means take the matter into your own fists, even though you would really really really like to. that wont help solve the problem. and in fact it would probally make things worse for your child.

First, go talk to the principal and get a staight story. Keep calm. (Sometimes scared kids lie to their parents). Then find out why your child was fighting. Punish your child for fighting. It is wrong to fight in school. IF the principal choked the child deliberately (as opposed to holding the child tightly to prevent injuring others if the child was out of control), then you might want to call a school board member to discuss it. But many parents automatically take their child's side without hearing the whole story. Your child may be innocent, but maybe your child was the aggressor. You need to find out so you can help your child not turn into a thug as he/she gets older.

Oh hell no!!
Breathe.. first off the principal will be in handcuffs. Under no circumstances!!! should adults place there hands on a child unless they are breaking up a fight. You do not have to go get ghetto but if you spanked your child or slap them you will be in jail for abuse.
I would check out the story, witness, statements, and so on, I know my own child can add a thing or two to a story to make it sound really bad. A report would be done regardless and I would contact the School Board.
There are steps to take but you have to know without of shadow of a doubt these facts are correct.
My child comes first in my life, but I will check out all stories I know my child will lie as well am not putting her on top of the world of being a perfect angel and always tell the truth

I would want to talk to the principal about his/her actions but also I would like to talk to my child about what his/her role was in starting the fight. Fights should not be started in the first place but also the principal is out of line for choking a child.

Make sure there are credible witnesses to the principal's abuse.
If there are, sue the school district, the school, and the principal.
If there isn't, I'd let the child consider this a lesson. There is always a bigger bully out there waiting for a fight. Don't give them an opportunity to join one and you don't have to worry about them.

Call the police and file child abuse charges against the principal. Unless the principal was actually just restraining the child and that was the only way to do it, there should be no reason for that.
