I don't know but I'll hypothesize. High schools are local and play on Friday night, where they are nearby. College games may be a bit further for most to travel so Saturday works out nicely. Sunday may be best for the NFL, again for travel reasons but also because this is the day the fewest people are working and because they don't want games competing with College games. They do play Saturday games in December sometimes. Just a theory, probably partly tradition too, since college balls been around longer perhaps they staked claim to Saturday first. I'll be interested in any factual answers.

I don't know, and I'm not basing this on research, but this is merely a guess.
I'm going to say that it has something to do with the fact that most church services are held on Sundays. I'm guessing that college football has been played alot longer than pro football. Maybe college Deans didn't want to deprive the student-athletes of their chance to attend worship services.
At the professional level, you miss out on the chance to go to church, but at least you get paid in return. In college, you don't get paid, but you do have the chance to observe religious customs.
It's a good question. I hope someone gives you a better, more researched answer than mine.

Not sure exactly why colleges play on Saturdays, but they predate the NFL, which plays on Sundays because colleges play on Saturday.

not anymore,,, Sunday night soccer is the massive point now.. Monday night has grow to be the different game. once you notice yer team is going to be on like 3 Sunday night video games, you recognize the League thinks youre going to be actual solid. whilst they Flex and take your team from a 1pm or 4pm game and turn it right into a Sunday night game, its a instruct of appreciate for what your team has carried out in season... MNF has much less weight than it use to. SNF is the massive game now.
