Be specific. Don't just name a title! I wanna know why. Did it influence you to start working toward a career, or do you have a special memory of watching it for the first time?

I have a bunch of favorites. For comedy, its gotta be Office Space, just because even if you don't work in an office you can relate to that movie. For drama, its What Dreams May Come, because the visuals are awesome and its a really good story.

The Colour Purple, because it's a story about two sisters separated due to circumstances beyond their control. I love my sister and it would be awful if I never saw her for a long, long time. The movie is a real cryfest and laughfest for me.

I also like Memoirs of a Geisha. I love period movies, and this one, as true to the novel as most movies are, is a beauty to watch. I read the book years ago, and re-read it recently because I was so enchanted with the movie.

A Beautiful Mind was a great movie! You have to watch it to see how great it was.
From the heights of notoriety to the depths of depravity, John Forbes Nash, Jr. experiences it all. A mathematical genius, he made an astonishing discovery early in his career and stood on the brink of international acclaim. But the handsome and arrogant Nash soon found himself on a painful and harrowing journey of self-discovery once he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. After many years of struggle, he eventually triumphed over this tragedy, and finally, late in life, received the Nobel Prize.

The Notebook. It was a tear jerker.
An epic love story centered around an older man who reads aloud to an older, invalid woman whom he regularly visits. From a faded notebook, the old man's words bring to life the story about a couple who is separated by World War II, and is then passionately reunited, seven years later, after they have taken different paths. Though her memory has faded, his words give her the chance to relive her turbulent youth and the unforgettable love they shared.

Shawshank Redemption. A great one!
Andy Dufresne, a mild mannered New England banker, is convicted of murdering his wife and her lover. Despised at first by the other inmates because of his introverted manner, Andy slowly forges an unlikely friendship with Red, a seasoned lifer and his gang. Soon, Andy also becomes popular with the prison guards, including the vicious Captain Hadley who offers him protection against the jail's rougher convicts in exchange for financial counseling. The prison warden also takes advantage of Andy's banking knowledge by exchanging privileges for creative bookkeeping. Over a twenty year period, Andy is able to maintain his sanity and dignity in prison not by physical force but by mental force. His smarts and confidence keep him going and he is able to teach the other prisoners that hope is the ultimate means of survival.

I absolutely LOVE "The Color Purple!" This film inspired me to be strong, as a woman, and love myself and refuse to accept any type of abuse from anyone. I know every line 2 this film cuz I've seen it about 100 times. I watch it every now and then 2 motivate me. Miss Celie is such a role model. I also generally like films that depict strong women.

Well, let's see. I have lots of favorite movies!! I especially like "Mrs. Doubtfire," because my parents are divorced too and the father wanted to be involved in his children's life. I also like "Independence Day," I love scifi and that is one of my all-time favorites. I also like "Stand By Me," I'm a big Stephen King fan; also "The Shawshank Redemption," and "Explorers," an 80s scifi movie, and one of River Phoenix's first movies; I also like "Napoleon Dynamite," because it's awesome; "The Mummy" and "The Mummy Returns;" "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles;" "The Karate Kid," because I like ninja movies; etc. etc. "Twisters" got me interested in meteorology, but I'm not a weatherperson, I'm a writer. :P

The French movie called "The Very Long Engagement". Couldn't stop crying...for ages. Very significant to me as it tells me not to give up hope and faith. Especially even when the circumstance points the other direction. An important message not just to me but to everyone...do give up hope..stand firm onto your belief.
