Maybe because the bottom has dropped out of the many off-shore oil wells and millions of gallons of oil have rushed in. That kind of an affect can become hypnotic to the Arab Oil Geezas and can cause them to unconsciously follow along.

So long as the American consumers don't make too much noise about the fact, the Oil Geezas may not notice and make changes

The best advice is to buy your gasoline and quietly pay your bills without too much attention being paid to price. If we can continue to fool the Arab Oil Geezas, we may have cheap gasoline right up to Christmas.

Shhhhhhhh.

Elections are coming in November. Republicans don't want to lose all their seats in Congress. Out of desperation, they bribed Big Oil to lower prices so they'd have a single positive to offer the voters on Election Day.

Cuz Bush is trying to look good close to elections all of a sudden....
After 5 years of paying out the ***,he thinks..Hmm..I better start looking good again...I have made enough to tide me over for a lil while and can afford to drop the gas some..then I will raise it right back up!

Because people realized gas cost too much and they stopped buying so much of it. The economy slowed enough to scare the oil speculators who were jacking the prices.
Now we get to be happy about the price of gas while we watch the stock market tank because housing prices are dropping and everyone is overextended on their credit cards, with little hope of pay raises to pay for the bills.

Gas prices are also dropping in Europe. Perhaps the rich people who jack up the wholesale prices complained to the rich people who jacked up the fuel prices and complained they were taking away some of their riches.

Easy - midterm elections. The RePUBICans don't stand a chance of staying in power with everything that is going on.

They'll go up even higher next year.

Don't buy that Suburban.

Mideast fears have cooled a bit with the end of the Israel - Hezbollah war, and oil production is steadily increasing. The Saudi government also announced that it would see no reason to bottleneck production, and will produce more.

People seem to think that politicians actually affect anything. Look to the dollar people! When the automakers stop moving product (suvs and such) because joe average can't afford to fill his tank, they call the suppliers of the gasoline and tell them to lower the price a bit.

The price of oil by the barrel dropped by about $3.00 in the last few weeks ergo your pay at the pump is less
