I live a 3 1/2 - 4 hour plane ride to my grandmother. We call once a week and see each other for about 10 days in the summer... 5-7 days at Christmas and every so often at Easter.

I babysit my Grandson, so I see him about 3 or 4 times a week and sometimes on the weekends as well. My home is a second home to him. I've watched him since he was 1 month and now he is 4 1/2. I feel very lucky to be able to spend so much time with him because I worked 5 days a week when my sons were young and missed out on a lot.

I think my daughter (2 1/2) is lucky to be able to spend so much time with her grandparents, and we encourage it (within limits!). My parents visit with my daughter every weekend , call a few times per week, and have her overnight every few months. My mother-in-law lives out of state, so we drive up about once a month so she can spend the day with her, she calls a few times per week, and we pick her up and bring her to our house for major holidays.

Well I think the age of the grandchildren are the biggest factor. If they are younger it should be as often as your talk to their parents. If they are 18 and old it depends on how close you are. All families are different and there is really not a right answer for this. So do what you think is best, you can always ask the other party.

Its different for every family. Some famillies have grandparents that live with them. Others may talk once a year or less.

Well it depends on the relationship, the distance and the grandparents, doesnt it?
It could be:
never
sometimes
daily
weekly
monthly
yearly
on holidays only
Or they could all be dead and nobody visits anyone.
