I seem to be very good at guiding others through them but am not so great with myself. I just hate the whole 'being in limbo' thing. Even though I know it indicates growth and that is always for the better...

Thanks for all the good advice people but I guess I should add that I'm 30 and have been through this a number of times before. Still, it doesn't get any easier, we just develop more mechanisms to cope with it and learn to recognise the signs. I suppose we're all growing up in one way or another throughout our entire lives.

Well, first of all -- recognize them, if you are acting all goofy and don't know why, well, there you go!
Second of all -- they are not as advertised -- for example, mid-life crisis is depicted by fast cars and trophy wives. The reality is growing up enough to finally want to do what you want rather what you "ought to do".
Third of all -- know that life goes on. Nobody really cares about you except for yourself. They may love you and want to help you, but they never can because only you understand what you are going through.
Fourth of all -- life can and should be fun. Each major phase of our lives are often began from depression or restriction or a realization that life isn't fun at the moment.
Major Life Transitions according to me.
1. First day of school in kindergarten
2. Adolescence.
3. Graduation from high school (or college these days)
4. First Real Heartbreak
5. Marriage
6. Divorce (50 - 50 chance)
7. Middle age -- the body sags!
8. Retirement
Change is hard. We tell ourselves to welcome change, but it's a *****.

Being in limbo is a horrible thing. But there are things to help pass the time and make it not so painful. Talk to your friends more, write a journal of everything you exprience, start researching something you find interesting, listen to music loudly and sing at the top of your lungs, read classic science fiction novels, that sort of thing helps.
I can relate your problem of helping everyone but yourself. But you gotta realize, sometimes you have to help yourself in order to help others. Growing up can be hard, you're not alone.

It depends largely on what the major life transition is.
When my husband died, I became a workaholic. I worked 7 days a week and all the double shifts I could get. It wasn't about the money, I just needed to be somewhere other than at home missing the rest of me.

this is staggering how our lives can replace from one 12 months to the subsequent and intensely just about be unrecognizable. I even have discovered that when i'm interior the midst of one of those ameliorations, that it helps to take a minute or 2 once I upward thrust up, and whilst i bypass to mattress, just to soak up what that day is approximately. no longer probably meditating, purely readjusting your physique of techniques. Accepting that it extremely is an upheaval quite is the biggest component to no longer letting the replace rigidity you out too undesirable. you will do great, no concerns!

Just take it one day at a time.
Or a minute at a time if you have to.
Think about where you want to go, and don't stew and fret about where you have been.
Today is all you have.
Yesterday is history; tomorrow's a mystery.
