My parents were the same way when I was kid. Oh! and I couldn't even think about red undergarments!. I think that they must be old fashioned because if you ever read books of past times, the whores and prostitutes always wore red lipstick or red something to mark and signify to the community what thier proffession was. my dad is the same way but he also didn't let me wear and thing solid red,like a shirt, scarf or anything like that. i asked him one day why not. he told me that when he was younger and went into the army, when him and his buddies went on leave that you could buy a date for a few hours by what she was wearing. a solid red piece of clothing or by her make-up ( lipstick or nails). so he said that he did not want me to be identified with that type of women. i guess he's claim was ok, and i didn't wear it. ask him why he don't like it, you never know what he will say.

I don't really see anything wrong with it, but it may depend on how it looks on you, and whether it suits you. If you're really fair skinned then it may just look like too much for you (too bright). OR, if you're young (younger than 18) then that may be the reason your dad does not like you to wear it. Red is generally a more showier color in make up.

Its a bit too bright. And if you put red nail polish on, like a really bright version, it looks cheesy.

Instead of going with pure red, try a softer shade of red, or a warm brick color for your lips and nails.
