I have tried rendering to different formats with different programs and it locks up at different points each time. It has also locked up when iTunes updates podcasts. I also ran a Microsoft memory test and that also froze! Am I dealing with bad RAM here? Thanks!

when you do this, if possible open task manager, and monitor Your CPU usage, and your memory usage, you may be able to identify your problem. A worst case scenario is to just buy new ram to help your computer deal with the load.

Sounds like bad RAM, you could try memtest and see if you get results. If that also locks up, then I would suggest if you have more than one RAM stick, try taking out all ram except 1 and then test, then add the next and so on until you find the bad one.

most likey you are runnign the computer with 128 ram. these days you need to have at least 512 ram if you are running 2-3 extra programmes.
