You are now allowed to obtain one free credit report from each credit bureau per year. The credit reports do not contain your credit score though, you'd have to pay for that separate. You can go to this site to obtain your free credit reports. www.annualcreditreport.com. This site also has the contact information for each credit bureau and tells you how to go about fixing errors found on your credit report.

If you are in the US, Experian and Equifax are the big ones. You can get a free report from them if you say you were denied credit. It is really hard to find the link once on their site because they would much rather sell you a report. Look hard and get a free one. PS - there are lots of "free" offers out there - many are just trying to get you to sign up for their services. Dont use it unless you want to pay each month.

There are three credit bureaus - Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. You can reach all of them, and get a free credit report from each once per year (new federal law passed a year or so ago), from www.annualcreditreport.com.
