Thin Lizzy! I like that tune, it's a real drive fast kind of kick back and fly little ditty!!! Well it was, driving fast in a civic is like bringing a donkey to the Kentucky Derby. Now for classic rock you need a classic car. That song blasting in my old 74 350 4barrel Cutlass at 145 MPH over rolling country roads is a perfect match!!!! My Good God, I was 17 years old!!! Hey, thanks a million for the memory; I don't think about that Rocket or those old tunes nearly enough, nope; not nearly enough.

The song is called "The Boys Are Back In Town"; & it was preformed by the one & only Thin Lizzy on thier classic 1976 album, "Jailbreak".

They were a great band out of Canada in the 70's; most notable for the insane talent & karisma of thier frontman/bassist Phil Lynott, who was this awesome African-Irish man who could put on a show like it was nobody's business.

A common misconception is that the BAND originated in Ireland, due to thier frontman/bassist, Phil Lynott's original homeland, when, in fact, he had left Ireland & moved to Canada several years before meeting the other two members, who were pure-bred Canadians, as THIER homeland suggested.

So, although the late, great Phil Lynott was originally born in Ireland to African-Irish parents, the actual BAND was formed in Canada, amung three insanely talented friends who got together & made some AWESOME music in thier short life-span.

Alas, poor Lynott, too has departed from this world all to soon & will surely be deeply missed for years to come...

Sigh.

"Cowboy Song" still gives me goosebumps whenever I hear it on the radio.

I think the original was by Thin Lizzy, although many artists have now covered it. You can go to songlyrics.com for the lyrics and other artists.
