Wouldn't it be nice if, instead of trying to be a military might, we invested the defense budget in curing disease?

Well, I like your idea, but we do need our Military as you know. I do think though that all of the money that the government is throwing away on the war and etc. could be used in better ways such as curing diseases, feeding the poor, etc.etc.
Maybe you should run for President? :-)

That would be nice but the few people that run the world seem to think that the world's population needs to be cut back by 90%.
They have the cures for many diseases but they won't let them out. The cure for cancer was found back in the 1920's.
But when Jesus comes back, righteous rule will follow.

it is so refreshing to hear a US citizen say this and not commenting on how USA has a right to do what they like if it is in their economic and social interests. Iam an Australian and i think our aliance with the US is filled with broken promises and is a one way street. Forget about the middle east 4 a second and look at humanity and the health care issues we face as a human race
