i need this for my language class and it needs to be due next week and i have no ides

It means that you're so engrossed in the detail that you fail to see the 'bigger picture'.

there are at least two slightly different ways to explain this:
1. If you are focused on the parts you cannot see the whole thing.
2. The whole thing (i.e., "forest") is often so big that it's not comprehended because all you can see is the small part (i.e., "the trees") -- no matter where you stand all you will see are the trees.

Looking at it from a religious view, God sees the forest through the trees. I only have enough vision to see a tree, another tree, doggone it, another stinking tree! We get focused so much on one problem rather than seeing that all things, no matter what come together to make the whole forest.

It means that one can be so intent on seeing the forest that they miss the real meaning of its existence...the trees!

I Think it means that you can't see whats in front of you if your busy lookin at the bigger picture
