I am sick and tired of people whinning about how people don't respect them, when they do nothing to earn it or even worse do stuff to earn disrespect.

I blame parents for not teaching kids how to respect or even what respect is.

Sounds like a question for Rodney Dangerfield. :)
But seriously, I'll have to agree. In order to be respected, a person must live a respectable life.

I totally agree. Respect must be earned. I hate when they say Respect Your Elders. WHY? I mean I know some pretty rotten old people I wouldn't respect. I respect you if you respect me and have earned it.

On a scale of one to ten, everyone I meet starts out as a five, just for the sake of their human life. How they behave from that point forward determines whether they go up or down on the scale.

Well, I would like a bit of respect and appreciation ,from a friend of mine. I do his washing, ironing, housework, gardening etc, I get no thanks for this. Now this makes me angry.
