Fill the 5.5 cup container with water, then pour from it into the 3.5 cup container... there are 2 cups left in the 5.5 cup container... put that in your water bottle. Repeat the process and you have 4 cups.

Fill the 5 1/2, Pour into the 3 1/2, leaving 2 in the 5 1/2, pour out the 3 1/2 into the bottle, the pour the two in the 5 1/2 into the the 3 1/2. Fill the 5 1/2 from the bottle, then finish filling the 3 1/2 (which will take 1 1/2) leaving exactly 4 in the 5 1/2.
