Line the banks of a river with all the troublesome characters, but plant in the foreground in the middle of the river, a river raft with Huck and Jim casually leaning back fishing, maybe smoking a pipe. Intensity for the caricatures onshore and relaxed ease on the foreground figures (which might be done in silhouette).

How about a loop of river with the raft on it with the sun shining down on the raft and pictures all around of bad things?
