Perhaps when I shuffle off this mortal coil it'll be a wonderful celebration, the angels will sing, the heaven's will part, and all the people who have gone on before me will wave to me as I make my descent into hell....either that or I'll just take the long dirt nap without any fanfare. So I'm not sure if death is all that bad. I think taxes are worse actually.

No, I think there are things that are so much worse than death. You could be bed ridden for example needing to be changed and washed daily. Where you are in constant pain, and you have to have someone take care of you. What kind of life would that be? So I'd have to say in a case like I have just given then death would be so much better.

Although the thought of dying is pretty scary, there are other things that can happen, fates worse than death, so to speak.
With a little imagination and access to some accurate history texts, you will soon see what I mean. I doubt if you can come up with something more horrific than what has already been done in the name of truth, justice, or religion.

No ,living is the worst because you are very aware of everything when your alive. Pain, hurt, and all the bad stuff that happens. No death is only the end to all the bad.

Death is like birth.Death should be a natural phenomenon.Live a life and be ready to die.If death comes to one unnaturally, like, getting killed or by disease then I hate.If it is a natural death I will enjoy it,that is, a death without any pain.
Birth is described as follows,'A short but dangerous journey through a narrow passage'.Death can be described as a liberation from all woes and worries.

Imgaine being unable to die. That would be the worst thing, being in total pain and agony and watching everyone around you suffer because you're suffering but you couldn't die. Then feeling miserable because you can't die and you need to. That's a million times worse to me. Death is natural and should not be feared.

Everyone is going to inevitably die, so in my opinion it cannot be the worst thing that happens to you. The space between birth and death will contain all of your experiences. One of these experiences will be the worst thing that happens to you, as an individual.

No the death of a family member especially a child is a hell of a lot worse than dying yourself.

I do not fear death. We just "graduate" from this plane of existence to another.

I would hate to have a stroke and lie paralyzed in a bed for the rest of my life.... or to have my eyes gouged out and live in blindness.... or to give birth to some horrible monstrosity, a child so terribly deformed that it dies or suffers a horrible fate....

All men someday die.... not all men really live!!

i gotta go w/bailey on this one. the death of one of your children would be worse than your own death, and would put you in a funk you'd never get out of for the remainder of your life. the grim reaper stealing the life of an innocent one would be hard to stomach. i can't imagine how people who have unfortunately experienced this first-hand can manage.
