Obviously your family has been blessed and not been confronted with a loved one with Alzheimer's Disease. One only needs to have stood by and watched their Mother disappear before their eyes knowing you are powerless to change the situtation to know you would prefer to be mentally alert than physically fit when you grow old. Alzheimer's disease creates the walking dead. My Mother died physically at 87 a beautiful woman. She died mentally and was gone from us at 85. Her face or body did not give away her age, but one only had to talk to her for a few mintues to know that her physically fit and beautiful body was hiding a mind that no longer worked. Each morning we dressed her as she had dressed all her life. The only difference being she was no longer aware of what she was wearing. One of the many memories I have of her is our last trip to Sedona, Arizona. A couple came over to our table and ask her to forgive them for staring at her. They stated they just could not keep their eyes off her for she was so beautiful and well dressed. Unfortunately the lady left in tears when she came to realize Mother had Alzheimer's Disease. I left the table to comfort her only to discover that she and her husband both were Geriatric's Doctors from New York City taking a break from the ravage on the elderly they were witnessing everyday from Alzheimer's.

Mentally of course. Aging physically never bothered me even tho I don't have much of a choice! Seems to be sneakin up on me whether I like it or not. I'm even catching up to my own daddy- u can't even tell he is anymore. But I don't mind. Some things you just can't help or fight. It's up to me to be my best in the things that I can help and change.

Physically because men would always prefer a good body to a smart brain, LOL! I'll be the big hit at the nursing home!

But, seriously, I would rather have a body that's healthy and non-achey. If I have to be stupid to earn that, so be it. It's a ***** to live with chronic pain when your great brain can't find a "cure" and apparently no one else's can either.

Mentally, because it's way more important to be able to take care of yourself and be happy than to be totally disease ridden and the hottest thing at nursing home. I work in a hospital so I know about cranky old ladies who can barely go to the bathroom on their own, I don't want that to be me.

i ought to a lot really age properly mentally. A muscular guy with the information of a 12 years previous is oftentimes talked about as a douchebag, yet a bodily frail yet smart guy is merely about continually properly-respected.

"A mind is a terrible thing to lose." - Dan Quayle

As long as I wouldn't be incontinent or confined to a wheelchair, I'd rather be lucid. I want my past and present intact. I don't care if it takes me longer to walk down the street -- at least I'll be able to get back home.

Mentally. What's the point of having a nice body if I'm reduced to complete senility and can't enjoy it anyway?

Mentally- after all your mind is what is going to keep you sane. If your body goes down hill, at least you could have a sense of humor about it...

I'd like to arrange it so I don't age at all. I've got this buddy of mine named Ponce, and he and I are going to go looking for this river or fountain or something, he's Spanish so it's hard for me to understand what he's on about some times. Anyway, I'll send postcards and let ya know how we get on.
