.well, you might try www.va.gov but only the actual person is normally allowed to access their records. Be prepared to prove (1) your relationship and (2) that the veteran is dead. and have a good reason

talk to any military station and tell them you are looking for records of your father's I am sure that they have some sealed files on him or closed

contact local VA admin office giving his ssn number all the relevant info that you can find, as well as a copy of his birth / death certificate....................[if this applies]

They will pass it along to the correct section.
