Don't think so. The Yankees will get their butts kicked by one of the teams out West. And I'm a Yankees fan!

The AL opposition to the Yankees will be the A's and the Twins, who have fallen to the Yankees in the past, and the Tigers, who the Yankees wiped the floor with this year. The Red Sox have also completely collapsed, although having a slight spark in the past few days. Not relevant, but I wanted to add that.
The NL is just a dead league. They're dead in the water. Just about the only worthwhile team is the Mets, who should easily breeze through to the World Series.
Will it be a Subway Series again? As Mike Francesa of Mike and the Mad Dog said, the only opposition the New York teams have is each other. Barring a sudden surprise in the short series, or a dramatic collapse, start spreading the news; New York, New York.
Let's just hope that we can have a repeat of 2000 with the fire and energy of the 2003 ALCS. Whatever happens, in the words of Rudy Guliani, "Go Yankees!"

Yes. No one can beat either of them. The Yankees are playing their scrubs right now, but the regulars are doing well when they play. The best pitcher they might face is Santana, and they seem to do well against him in the playoffs. The Tigers are struggling and their young pitchers have hit the wall. The Yankes have beat them five out of seven this year (both games were blowns saves, by Farnsworth and Proctor) when Rivera was unavailable.
Who can beat the Yanks? Not the A's. Billy Beane's "Moneyball" approach falls flat in the playoffs. What good is getting on base if no one can run on the team? Aside from Thomas,no one scares you in the lineup. Chavez and Swisher have a lot of holes, and no one else would even start on the Yankees.
As for the Mets, no one will stop them, they just overpower teams. The only way they'll lose is if they play badly, and a team like the Dodgers gets good pitching. I think a Subway Series is a very distinct possibility.

Another subway series? I doubt it. I think the Mets can take the National league Pennant, bu the Yankees don't have the pitching to carry them by the Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins. I really favor the Twins in the American League because of their pitching.

I'd love to see it happen! The Yankees are resting their stars. Rivera hasn't pitched even after he'd have been able to come back. Took the subway to a Yankee game in July when I was on vacation in NYC. What an experience!!!
...and to the Red Sox fan... lmao! Do you KNOW how far behind the Sux are?
