Where do I go to get a replacement Social Security card? Town hall? DMV?

Social Security office. Look in the blue pages in your local phone book, or go to http://www.ssa.gov

Duh... where did you get the Original?... Unless you bought it on the street in L.A., you probably had to go to the Social Security Office... and that is exactly the same place you have to go to get the replacement. You go do the Town Hall to pay property taxes and the DVM for a driver's or auto license... but the Social Security Office has a monopoly on Social Security Cards.

Quickest way is to go to your nearest social security office. Depends on where you live, but even small towns are usually within an hour or two of one. You can also get an application on-line and mail it in, but this, of course, will take longer.
