The best place online is Quilter's Cache. She has over a thousand blocks, with instructions and an illustration of the finished quilt. Best of all, it's free. She also has some basic instructions for paper piecing, binding, etc.

If you have a quilt or craft store nearby try one of those. You could always try being creative though and make up your own. Just figure out your dimensions and using graft paper try your own. It would be unique and if it turns out well, youcan enter it is a quilt show or the county fair even, Good Luck!!!

The best book to start is Rotary Magic. It has great no-fail techniques, and aome designs with instructions.
