Don't make the mistake and match your make up to your clothing. You can wear almost any color for that "rock and roll" look. It's about eyeliner effects and blending. Get a good brush to blend, even your eyes (close them first). Put on eyeliner to accent the shape of your eye or to add the smudged look. Rimmel, sold in Wal-Mart makes good make up at a decent price. Look at the display to get some ideas. They have all types of colors for different skin tones. The trick is not to make the colors appear that they are too dark or that it seems the make up is floating on your face. Experiment. Finish it off with a light colored lip gloss. It's all about the eyes. And remember...Blend.
And as far as what you should wear...? Do your make up a couple of days early to practice and then be inspired....Good luck and have fun.

Is there a Saphora store where you live? You can try on anything there and they will even help you create a look.
Any department store cosmetic counter will do the same. If their products cost too much you can buy cheaper brands at the drugstore but at least get the look itself.
Urban Decay makes some really great color eyeshadows for $15. Lots of awesome colors. My favorite is "Last Call".

I love to go to marykay.com and use their section called virtual make over. Here it helps me decide what colors would go right with my skin and eye color.
I just simply print it off and go to the store and buy the cheaper make up that matches those colors.
It gives such natural beautiful colors that make me look very pretty yet elegant.
Oh and it also shows how to apply your make-up on correctly!

For a "rock and roll" type event you may want to wear a navy mascara, dark grey eyeshadow but blend it nicely and give your lips a glossy look, eyeliner is not really necessary but that's your choice.

Any cosmetic counter in a fine department store will be happy to give you a color consultation, especially if you appear to be interested in their product
