I'm a musician with a band and am considering using a booking agent to find gigs. What is the standard commission rate for a booking agent to charge a band?

The average is 10%-20%.

Most booking agents for small bands charge 50%. As you get better known, the % goes DOWN. 30% is a great rate, if you can find one that charges that low for a "new" band with no real contacts of their own.
