It's a wood floor

If you have access to the floor from below (like an unfinished basement ceiling) you can locate the squeek and put a shim and some caulking between the floor board and the floor joist ( the boards the floor boards are nailed to)
The squeek is probably caused by the floor board not being tight against the floor joist. When you step on it there is movement and the board is rubbing against the nail used to fasten it in place, thus the squeek. Access from below is the easiest way to approach the problem with what I suggested above. If you don't have access from below you will need to locate the nail causing the squeek. Pull it out if you can and replace it with a screw. The best type of screw for something like this is a "trim screw" or finish screw. They have much narrower heads and look better when used on finish work. The heads can be driven below the surface and puttied if need be. Also it should be a screw long enough so the threads do not go the entire length of the screw shank. That will allow the floor board to be drawn tight to the floor joist thereby eliminating your squeek.
The job will go a lot smoother if you have a drill with an attachment to drive screws. The heads of the trim screws are usually square (roberts) so be sure you have the right tip for the screw driver.
If all else fails, try putting a little drop of oil on the nail to try and quiet the squeek.
I would like to note that simply driving the nail in deeper usually never works for long because the nail usually works itself out again. You need the threads of the screw to grab and hold the flooring in place so it can't move

If it's a wood floor, the boards have worked loose.
They need to be re-nailed, but that may be difficult, if they are tongue and groove.

If you can get to the floor from the basement, screws could be used, at the correct length so as not to penetrate through the floor. That would require cross pieces between the joists in order to have something to anchor the floor from underneath.

All I can suggest without knowing more.

If the floor is carpeted, the carpet will need to be pulled and the floor nailed. Then carpet reinstalled.

First, by getting to the sub Floor, try screwing it down with 2 inch
coarse dry wall screws every 4 inches were you hear the floor squeak, this procedure might work.
