What kind of file is it? Avi? Divx? other? Most likely you need the codec for the video file type you're trying to play. Search for the file type of your movie plus "codec" in google- for instance, "Avi codec" and download one of the codecs google spits out. Install it, and the video should play properly.

We'll assume the download was legal for now. Chances are you need a special kind of driver to view the movie, called a "codec". The problem is that there are so many out there that it's very difficult to find one, if any, that will work. You could try doing a Goog - oops, forgot where I was - I mean a Yahoo! search on "divx codec", and see if loading any of those work for you.

The file you have could also be corrupted - though if you're getting audio, I don't think that necessarily is the case.

One note - in my consulting work, I've seen people's computers and they've had such downloads. Gotta tell you, I have never seen a downloaded movie that was worth the time it took to obtain. Most of them are poor quality video or has audiences talking over the lines. I'm not passing judgment - just reporting what I and other people I've worked with have seen. And the MPAA is more litigious than the music industry, so please be careful.

I have never heard of bearshare, but it is probably a copyright infringement to download and I doubt you paid for the movie. Therefore, someone simply changed the contents of the movie. Make sure the file is not a virus. There is nothing you can do to fix the problem.

hey, you can try downloading VLC. its a media player tt has almost all e codecs except for REAL; which means it doesn't support movies ending with .rmvb it supporst everything else.
next check the file size... if its very small, less than 300mb chances are its an invalid file. yup.
as for downloading stuff.. ur much safer using bit torrent..
