People are under the misconception they can stay totally anonymous on the Internet. Either that, or they think only family and friends look at their profile. Profiles are linked to other profiles, forums, blogs, and other tidbits. A resourceful person can follow the trail with a little determination.

Ignorance maybe, there are lots of weirdos out there..... Kid's photos should be kept in private, the family albums and frames, not in public view, but then again, some people shouldn't be allowed to reproduce either, they know it and still do it anyway. What you think?
How about also because a good parent can't stand the idea of some sob perv Jkng off to a child's pic? I worked in a place where I heard some stuff...there are real monsters out there!
Parents quit being stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always wondered this same question...But than again if you only have as much information as ones State they live in on a profile, you have no need to worry who might come to steal your children...Also some people have many family and friends on the Internet and don't realize they can select the share with family and friends only category..

I completely agree. People put WAY too much information in their profiles pics of their family, their house, what town they live in, where they work or attend school, and sometimes a last will show up if it is something like "myspace" people leave messages for Jane Smith and say things like "Miss. Smith.. where have you been, you were supposed to meet me in the library at 4, make it for tomorrow same time."
Now your stalker knows your full name, where you go to school, what you look like, and where to find you!

BE CAREFUL!

I think they don't have the imagination to realize that putting that on the web is like putting up an ad for a predator, sort of like "Take these they are gorgeous.".

to be honest I have yet to figure out some people... I love my son and am very proud of him. but I shelter him as much as I can and lord knows today we have to.. but I agree to have pictures of your kids on your profile and then its two seconds to figure out your address.. guess what they tend to not hide that personal info either... I guess there is not accounting for some children's parents..

It's their idea of posting their wallet online, but I think they have a false sense of security also. Who knows what kind of weirdo could be checking that photo out, I think it's weird.

Call it a proud parent...that does'nt seem a problem...it becomes one when you put information in your profile.
