I came up with the "Distorted Reality" theory. He did not like that - he said that is the end product and I needed to come up with the processess that lead to this outcome. I said that the both the sender and the receiver feed off of each other. The audience gives the media cues at to what it wants to be fed (Neilson ratings, Arbitron, etc.). The media also tries to encourage "new foods". It tries to reach as many audience members as possible, Thus the media seeks to avoid offending their target audience. The media focuses on specific areas of a story while ignoring other parts of it. Some audiences, such as those targeted by propagandists, are ready to hear and accept the message because it is what they want to hear. Also, the media attaches an overabundance of importance to Hollywood and celebrities in general. The media distorts the message in this area by making the celebrities seem more important than they really are. My instructor may also reject this. Help! Any ideas?

I think this may be a case of you writing what he wants to see.

Your stuff is very good,(and accurate),I would have torn into
advertising "and" media.

You may have to "Hold Your Nose" and put together how Mass
Communication has been a "wonderful boon" to the whole world.
If you have the kind instructior that wants to see this rosy bull
story give him one ,get the A and move on.

all your answers seem to be centered around media. that is a form of communication that has already been established. try something original. like the warning siren for tornados. think of something that you could use to tell everyone to jump at the same time to throught the world off its axes. Obviously not possible but it is for thinking of some way to yell at the world
