If you are asking then you probably already know the answer, only you can decide sit down by yourself and quietly contemplate why he is where he is, write down how you feel about what he has done, how would you explain it to your children....being in jail isn't something that goes away and sadly sometimes it is something that repeats and repeats itself...do you feel lonely can you live like you are on a regular basis, would you be prepared to bring children into the world knowing tat for the most part you will have to struggle bringing them up alone and what if they decide to follow in dad's footsteps....its a hard decision to make especially when you care for someone and only you can make it, weigh it all up, make your choice and be firm because if you move on it will be hard and if you stay it will be hard onl you can dicide which is harder.

Well that all depends on how long hes in jail for,,,,and if you want to wait that long. If hes in jail for something serious, why would you want to be with a loser in the first place???/Dont you think you deserve better?

Move on. Honestly, it's unrealistic to think that anyone locked up for any length of time especially over a year would be ready to settle down again for some time, no matter what he promises. I was listening to a talk radio show that addressed this very subject. Most of the callers were wives talking about how they wish they had moved on because of the emotional issues that came about from their men being incarcerated. The promises made in jail turned into resentment because the women were holding the men to their commitment as a result of the women "standing by her man" for so long. Basically, the men rebelled. Speaking from experience, I dated this man who was just released from prison after 5 years. He was tall, handsome, and sweet. We were serious for about 6 months, he then revealed to me (which I had a clue) that he was seeing other women. He denied it at first, but then said he wasn't ready to settle down because he needed to be free for a while. I was hurt, but I told him that I understood because he needed to regain a sense of who he is after been told what to do day in and day out for 5 years. Honestly, I did understand. I think to myself, what if I were incarcerated for 5 years, I wouldn't want anyone to expect anything of me but to be a productive memeber of society. Bottom line, if it is meant to be you'll get back together. But until then, move on, nothing is promised to any of us, especially not love.

How long have you been with him? Depends on what he did to get in jail. If its really bad then leave him. Would he wait for you if you were in jail?

It all depends what he did to put himself in jail....You would have a rationalize the questions and then decide what you are going to do. I always made three options when I got in a bad relationship but found my way out and I was glad later on in life. When I look back now I shudder!!!! and now Life is Great!!!! God Bless and good luck to you.....remember make options!!!!

It depends on what he went to jail for. But most people will repeat and go back to Jail, Dump him before you get more hurt.

It depends on why he is in jail. If it's something minor, like drinking, than if you love him give him another chance. However, if it is something serious, than move on and meet someone decent that deserves you.

Depends what he's in jail for. And for how long he'll be in there. And for how much you like him and are willing to wait.

Is he in jail because he committed a civil offense, such as protesting the war outside the Bush Ranch, or because he committed a crime? If it is because he committed a crime, why would you want to be with someone who does not respect the law?

I think you know the answer to that. You are in for trouble with someone who has landed in jail for whatever reason.
