My jumping rope was cut in half. Half was thrown away. The other half was cut again one third along the way. The longer part(10 feet long) is what I use to play.

If half the rope is 15 feet....10 plus 5... two thirds, one third

10=2/3 of rope after first cutting, so the rope was divided into two 15 inch sections to begin with. Double that--your rope was 30 feet long originally.
