I do not know if the programs that are done on desktop can be reformatted if a computer store downloaded the programs.If anyone knows or can help in any way I would appreciate it.

First you ned to back up all your important data and be sure you have backed them all up.

next you must have a start up disk or MS-DOS disk with a format.exe file in it also be sure you got a microsoft windows or mac os disk

just type format c: (where c: is the name of your drive) and press enter. note that all data in a hard drive will be erased when you format so be sure to BACKUP ALL IMPORTANT FILES AND DOCUMENTS

If your PC is running in Windows 2000/XP, all you need is a bootable CD of any of those operating systems. Insert that (bootable win2000/xp) cd. Then follow the instruction in the scree.
