Poetry books don't sell well period. I think most poets don't get great recognition until their dead. My advice - write children's poems. Come up with a really cool poetry book that children are going to like.

Writing poetry has to be from the heart. If you go into it thinking about how much money you'll make, ultimately you will be left with nothing but disappointment and a bunch of crappy poems. If you write for the love of your art, then that's what matters.

No.

TS Eliot had to work in a bank.
Wallace Stevens had to work in insurance.

They were two of the greatest poets of the 20th century. If they had to have real jobs to support their work, what makes you think that your love poems and nature poems will sell?

Write because you love it. Publish if you can. Don't expect it to sell.

No, Poetry is not being published very much today (except in vanity venues and you want to stay away from those). Forget selling your poetry, dear.

i think of which you're an outstanding poet. it extremely is sooo sturdy which you would be able to desire to take it off simply by fact somebody could scouse borrow it! once you prefer advice on writing bypass to a confirm, pal, instructor and so on. i do no longer think of that this has too lots puctuation, yet once you're uncomfortable with the punctuation in-between the strains, then.....despite words are after the comma in-between strains positioned on the subsequent line, and eliminate the comma. you're an extremely good poet, and you are able to desire to submit it! sturdy success, and shop Writing!!

even if it won't doesn't mean it isn't good. it simply means people today aren't very much interested in poetry. and besides, poetry isn't known for money... write for the sake of writing....
