Hip-Hop is a whole culture, rap is the music that evolved from the culture. Rap music is so influential and powerful that it inspired a whole culture, such as fashion, speech, hairstyles..etc. It goes so far. So basically it's like rap is just one of Hip-Hop's accessory's.

personally if i had to break it down. rap would probably be something dr. dre would produce and hip hop is more jermaine depri would...rap a little more on the serious side, hip hop more of a club sound..haha. sorry thats about as good as i go.

Rap is music. Hip-Hop is a culture. Hip-Hop includes (but is not limited to) music, clothes, vernacular, style, etc.

think old school. hip hop was eric b. and rakim, arrested development, and krs one. rap was nwa, digital underground, and ice cube. hip-hop tends to be more soulful and rap is angrier.

hip hop is more soft and they sing :like cassie "me and you" thats hip hop...... Rap is more hardcore likeone of 50 cents raps

hip hop,according to my oldest, ( 17) is upbeat,and rap is rhyming words that is my guess.
