good psychology question--for some
it could bring association of feminine attractivness,
for others the sound of the heels
digging into their wounded hearts; or it may depend
on the circumstance
the above from a male point of view

They don't really intimidate me but they do make me cringe. Especially in hallways with tiled floor.
In elementary school I use to get in trouble a bit and I would have to sit outside the principal's office. I swear that if you were female and working at the school high heels were manditory. You could hear them comming from miles away. You knew they were comming even before they turned the corner.
I would cringe everytime I heard them comming because as soon as they saw me sitting in the chair it would be, "So what did you do this time? You shouldn't be doing that. You know that's wrong right? Your mother isn't going to be happy with you."
Nothing pissed me off more than getting interrogated 50 times before I actually saw the principal.

Intimidate - no.
Amuse - yes.
Especially when corporate types are clomping down the hallway in their heels trying to act all authoritarian. Hehehe. In truth it means they can fall over easier! heh!
